Wednesday 28th July 2010, London High Court has imposed a permanent ban on the R4 and R4i cards that have plagued the gaming industry for years with the widespread abuse of pirated games for the nintendo DS, DSLite, DSi and DSi XL. This ban includes the import, distribution or resale of the R4 or R4i card.
Nintendo has been under huge pressure for many years now to make this cartridge illegal from the software industry who spend millions of dollars a year on production, research and distribution of games, only for them then to find their way on to gamers consoles via the net, and via the R4/R4i card. It has failed to get the ban that the industry has so longed for, but finally Nintendo have suceeded in getting the ban they have wanted for years. No doubt there will be some very pleased people at the head of Nintendo this evening. However there are still many countries that this product isnt yet illegal but we predict it wont be long until there is a worlwide ban on this product.
