This unit does deliver as promised. I wanted to expand the storage of my laptop for storage of photos without having a memory stick or SD card sticking out too much at the side. The unit is now a permanent fixture, robustly lodged in a USB port and protrudes only 8mm. This should not be a problem when carrying the laptop around. I backup to a separate drive. Speed seemed good, but was not measured. It's too small to carry around without risk of losing it. If you did remove it, you'd want to put it in the original plastic packaging for safe keeping. "Economy" delivery by post was swift, and price was cheaper than Amazon.
